This was our first voyage to the museum and we were not disappointed. This museum is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone of any age. Maybe go on a day that is not rainy so you can also partake in the outdoor activities. The botanical garden looked amazing from what I could tell.
We waited until this year to go because of the reading involved. We wanted the girls to be big enough to be able to read most of it. With Kendra being 12 and Alissa 9, we felt now was a good time. To be quite honest, Aidan, who at 3 with obvious no reading skills, enjoyed the experience just as much.
We began our day in the amazing entry hall. The robotically animated dinosaurs were incredible. They were amazingly realistic.
Here we are in front of the water feature in the entry hall. We were set and ready for our adventure through God's amazing word.
Ready set go.....
I was really bad about taking pictures while we were visiting the museum. I was too intrigued with all the exhibits and
totally consumed with amazement to remember my camera. Sorry about that.
Aidan was absolutely amazed by the dinosaurs. He could not quit looking at the ones that moved and roared. I was a little concerned that they would scare him, but he proved to be very brave.
This was his absolute favorite one. I tried to get a picture of it when it was really close to him but was unsuccessful. He came alive when he saw this dinosaur. He was kicking and talking all about it. I found it very endearing that he was so in love with this somewhat hideous beast.
Again, he stared at this dinosaur in amazement. I was able to get him out of his chair in this location and let him touch this one. Again, I thought he might be scared to touch it, and again I was proven wrong. He reached his hand right out and touched it several times. At this point of having him out of his chair, we went upstairs here in this exhibit and saw more creatures.
The Creation Museum does a great job showing how God created all things during the 6 days of creation. The exhibit on Noah and The Ark was very well done. I can not wait until the life sized replica is built. I do think this experience helped the girls to "see" many of the lessons they have been learning.
Once we finished at The Creation Museum and had looked all through their great bookstore/gift shop, we headed into Cincinnati. We wanted to make our first visit to Jungle Jim's International Market. This place is amazing. We spend several hours walking the aisles and looking at all the interesting varieties of foods and still only saw about half of the store. The girls were in love with the massive candy section. We saw candy there that I have not seen since childhood. Among many things, we saw candy cigarettes, who remembers those things?
This is Alissa modeling the fake outhouse located at Jungle Jim's. She thought it was funny and had to sit on it.
Jungle Jim's is definitely another place that all people should experience at least once in their life. This store had any kind of ethnic food you may want. Many of the items we saw there we had never seen before and to be frank, we have no idea what most of it was.
